Programming the PICAXE

PICAXE PICAXE

Now that you have constructed all the hardware for the board you can program the PICAXE microcontroller to test if your new cool Musical Die works.

In this project we're using the Version 08M of the PICAXE running on 4 Mhz. Those values are very important and have to be set up correctly in the Editor.

If you have never done a genesis project and never programed a PICAXE microcontroller before, you should now continue in our PICAXE section. There we provide you all the necessary information you need for programming.

If you know how to program you can download the BASIC files linked here. The names of the programs are named by the main tune they can play. Each program has five tunes. You can start a tune when you press the push button for longer than one second.

  • die value 1 starts Happy Birthday
  • 2: Jingle Bells
  • 3: Silent Night
  • 4: Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer
  • 5: starts the main tune
